PISTOL CLEANING ROD FOR M1911A1............ this was found up on the SCHWARZER-MANN HILL in 2002, found along with remains of Musette bags containing spare mags and a lot of small personal items.. but no ID. Judging by the amount of discarded kit we found in such a small area it was probably a point where the Germans policed up their prisoners........ there was a lot of discarded ammo and remains of ammo belts and webbing gear........... all rotted away leaving just the various metal fixings......... must have belonged to a member of 106th US Infantry Division.........
